\n\t\t\t\tThe Colli Orientali del Friuli stretch from Tarcento (to the north) to the Corno di Rosazzo area (to the southwest) and include Prepotto, the birthplace and expression of Marinig winemaking passion. The landscape is composed of soft, lush reliefs, with patches of level ground, terraces, steps, and thickets that break up the order of fields and rows arranged by the hand of man throughout the ages. The king of all wines produced in this small enclave with its very special microclimate is Schioppettino di Prepotto, a red wine with an unmistakable personality, spicy and elegant, the glory of all Friulian viticulture. \n\t\t\t\tThe Colli Orientali del Friuli, a few million years ago, were formed by the flooding of an extensive lagoon, which receded and left behind a substratum made of calcareous clays and calcified sands: the so-called \u201cponca\u201d, a soil with a typical highly layered appearance. Over the ages, these soils have proven to be truly ideal for grapes, which have flourished here with great luxuriance and pride among the winemakers who have followed one another from generation to generation. If the soil does much, the rest is done by the rough and mild air of these areas, and by a sky that, especially on certain days in early October, is so blue as to stir the hearts of people who truly love nature and its bounty.
