PREPOTTO
for six generations
Winemakers since 1808 in
the Colli Orientali del Friuli
Our wines are born in Prepotto, in the Colli Orientali del Friuli (Eastern Hills of Friuli), from strong values such as land and family, as well as a region with a history and tradition of vine cultivation. It has been this way for generations: since 1808, we have dedicated ourselves with unwavering enthusiasm to the art of vine and wine.
Eight hectares of vineyards
in Prepotto, favoured by a unique microclimate
Our vineyards extend in the territory of Prepotto, on the hills surrounding the valley of the Judrio river: the vines (often from ancient plantings) are supported by minerals-rich soils comprised primarily of clayey-calcareous marls of Eocene origin. The climate is very favourable: it is moderated by the Adriatic winds, and in late summer, when the harvest is nearing, temperature changes favour the aromatic structure of wines, to which they add a particular spiciness.
Wine is made in
the vineyard and achieves excellence in the cellar
The quality and pleasantness of the wine depend on the quality of the grapes, and the latter is achieved with vine training systems that preserve their historicity and integrity, preferring natural grassing of the rows and minimizing treatments. The rest of the work is done in the cellar, following tradition and the characteristics dictated by the Colli Orientali del Friuli area, typical of each varietal.
International and native Friulian
classics
We have always enjoyed trying our hand and giving our best with the grape varieties of the great international tradition, both whites and reds, but our heart belongs entirely to the distinctive varieties of our Friuli: Friulano, Schioppettino di Prepotto, Refosco, Pignolo... And, speaking of “heart” reds, our Biel Cûr, a blend obtained from Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso, Schioppettino and Pignolo, is the true embodiment of our great passion and the land that feeds it.
